Yes, the main character of the new Pixar/Disney´s movie is here, on the real world! An animatronic version of little robot called WALL-E will roam the Disney amusement parks. Where Can I buy one?

The CG software is definitely expensive. This is nothing new but always there is an exception. In this case the exception is Blender. It´s a free CG software available for the most operating systems (windows, linux, OSX,…). To promote it and show the Blender features the Blender Institute has created Peach, a cartoon short-(open)-film. Evoman is a french animation project based on the british writer Roy Lewis book tittled “Why I eat my father”. With a 30 millions euros budget, the film will be released on 2010. The first time I watch this trailer it was about 3-4 years ago in a Kyle Balda masterclass in Madrid (he was working on the project). I found it last week surfing the net. You can watch it here.

The “Nine Old Men” were the Walt Disney animation pioniers. “Bambi” (1942), “Sleeping Beauty” (1959), “101 Dalmatians” (1961) or “The Jungle Book” (1967) are some of the tittles of that animation golden age. Oliver Martin “Ollie” Johnston Jr. was one of them (the last alive). He has died the April 15, he was 95 (you can see a photo-gallery of him with Walt Disney and the other “Nine Old Men” here).

My friend Lucas has published an entry in his blog lucasitos.com about the Pixar´s future proyects. The company intend to release two animation films per year. “UP” (May-2009), “Toy Story 3″ (June-2010) or “Newt” (summer 2011) are some of the tittles…More info here.

11 Second Club is a monthly animation competition web. With an audio file with a duration of…exactly! 11 seconds!…each participant must to animate a scene with one or more characters. The sponsor is Animation Mentor and the prize is an e-critique from one of the mentors (one different each month).

Yes, I Know this is not an entry related with my artwork nor animation but…I can´t resist to publish it. Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and Harrison Ford are working together again on the fourth film of the Indiana Jones saga: “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the  Crystal Skull”. A new trailer (final) for the next Disney/Pixar Movie is here. It doesn´t reveals to much about the story (something that I like) and appears new characters (others robot and a human).
